Exports to reach US$131 bln in 2013

VGP – Export turnover in 2013 is expected to reach US$131 billion, showing 4% higher than the goal set by the National Assembly (NA) and a year-on year increase of 14%, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.


The NA has set the target of making this year’s export turnover increase by 10% from 2012 (around US$126.1 billion).


In the nine months of 2013, Viet Nam earned US$96.46 billion from exports, up 17.5%. Exports of the processing industry accounted for more than 69.7% of total export turnover, attaining US$67.24 billion, up 26.4%.


Export turnover of phones and computers, accessories and electronics hold the highest growth rate of 75.5% and 45.3%, respectively.


The European market showed the highest growth rate with 21.9%, followed by the America 13.4% and the Asian market 12.9%, in terms of imports from Viet Nam.
