The Index of Industrial Products (IIP) in September was estimated to rise 5.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
Of which, mining dropped 5.1 percent; industrial processing and manufacturing advanced 8.5 percent; power generation and distribution jumped 9.4 percent; and water supply, waste and wastewater treatment rocketed 11.2 percent.
In general, the IIP for the first nine months of this year climbed 5.4 percent year-on-year. Noticeably, Ho Chi Minh City saw higher increase of 6 percent than the country’s average increase in the same period.
As of September 1 this year, inventory index of industrial processing and manufacturing surged 9.3 percent year-on-year with beverage soaring 121 percent, medicines and pharmaceutical chemicals mounting 41.2 percent, and paper and paper products edging up 38.9 percent.
