(VOV) – President Chummaly Sayasone highly valued the effective cooperation between the two countries’ Ministries of Public Security while receiving General Tran Dai Quang in Vientiane on September 18.

General Quang, who is Minister of Public Security of Vietnam, attended theninth ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) in Vientiane on September 17-18.
At the reception, Sayasone, who is also General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, congratulated Vietnam on its achievements during its Doi Moi (Renewal), national construction and development process.
He expressed his hope that the two ministries will continue to coordinate closely and exchange experience in all fields of mutual concern, contributing to fulfilling resolutions set by the two Parties.
General Quang briefed his host on Vietnam’s current situation, and cooperative results between the two Public Security Ministries, as well as the results of theninth AMMTC.
He affirmed that the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security will increase information and experience sharing with their Lao counterpart to maintain national security in each country and to strengthen the close cooperation in combating transnational crime between law enforcement agencies of ASEAN and its dialogue partners.
He also voiced Vietnam’s desire to boost traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos, for peace, stability and sustainable development in the region and the rest of the world.
