(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Monday will leave Hanoi for Nanning, China, for the 10thChina-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit. The visit reflects Vietnam’s respect for the development of friendship and comprehensive cooperation with China, helping to consolidate the political trust and boost trade and investment cooperation between the two countries in particular and between ASEAN and China in general. The China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit is an annual event co-organized by the Chinese Ministry of Trade and 10 ASEAN member countries in Nanning city, Quangxi province. The expo has become an important mechanism with more than 10 billion USD trade transactions and more than 50 billion USD international investment cooperation.
This year’s event is more significant as China and ASEAN marks the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership. There will be 3,400 pavilions in 5 specialized zones related to trade of goods, investment cooperation, science-technology, trade and services and representative cities of ASEAN and China, including Quy Nhon city of Vietnam. Vietnam joins the expo with 200 pavilions and 100 businesses, the largest number among guest countries.
The10thChina-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit is an important dialogue forum between the two sides to strengthen their strategic partnership, boost the formation of the ASEAN-China free trade area and deepen regional trade and investment amidst world economic difficulties. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung is scheduled to meet with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang to discuss issues of mutual concerns. He will also meet with leaders of local administrations of China and groups, who participate in the expo and summit.
