The Thang Long Water Puppetry Theatre in Hanoi has set the record for being the only theatre in Asia offering daily live performances for 365 days.
Established in 1969, the theatre at 57B Dinh Tien Hoang street initially started offering monthly water puppet shows for audiences in 1990. The theatre subsequently changed to weekly and then to daily performances.
Almost all guided tours of Hanoi now include a show at the theatre. More than 2,000 performances are held each year, and the theatre stays open all 365 days.
The theatre has also introduced the traditional art to audiences in more than 50 countries around the world./.
