PANO – A get-together for former cadres of the General Staff on the occasion of its 68th anniversary (September 7th, 1945) was organised on September 7th in Hanoi.
Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defence Minister, the heroes of People’s Armed Forces, former Deputy Defence Ministers, Deputy Chiefs and former Deputy Chiefs of the General Staff, generals and high-ranking officers attended the event.
During the get-together, the participants recalled feats of arms and contributions of cadres, officers and non-commissioned oficers, employees, and troops of the General Staff over the past 68 years. They also showed their determination to overcome difficulties to fulfill their tasks, making contributions to building a revolutionary, regular, elite and increasingly modern army, defending national sovereingty and ensuring happiness for people.
Talking with the participants, General Ty highlighted the roles and missions of the General Staff in the national construction and defence cause and army building cause, as well as analysed impacts of the world and regional situations on the army building and national defence causes.
The general also made suggestions about raising the quality of mission implementation and hoped that revolutionary veterans, generals, high-ranking oficers and former leaders will promote the traditions of the unit to help the General Staff fulfill assigned tasks.
