Hanoi
and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) have been listed among the most attractive Southeast Asian cities and have become ideal hotspots for British youth.

Southeast Asian cities such as Cambodia’s Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, Thailand’s Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Pattaya, along with Hanoi and HCMC are favoured by young people from the UK thanks to low prices of hotel room and services.

According to a recent survey on the price of hotel rooms around the world in the first six months of the year, carried out by the hotel booking website hotels.com, Hanoi and HCMC ranked second and sixth with the cheapest average room rates. The average hotel room price in Hanoi is GPB41 (USD65.58) for one day and night while the price in HCMC is GPB60.

The website noted that a five-night stay in Phnom Penh was the same cost as a one-night stay in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) at GBP35 per day and night.

Another survey by ABTA last month showed that Thailand was identified as the most favoured destination for British youth, followed by Australia, the US and South Africa. About 24,000 British students are forecast to spend time travelling abroad after their graduation./.
