Police in Ho Chi Minh City Friday busted another expensive prostitution ring employing models and beauty queens.
Vo Thi My Xuan, a Mekong Delta beauty pageant winner who has been a major pimp in an expensive prostitution ring employing other beauty winners and models.
The ring was found to charge customers US$2,500 a time, much higher than the top price of $1,500 charged by a similar service operating in Hanoi and HCMC that was busted late last month.
Many girls involved were winners of pageant contests from southern Vietnam in 2009 and 2010, while many others were models, including a 19-year-old only identified as P., who was going to attend the upcoming Mekong Delta pageant contest.
Investigations have identified 40-year-old Tran Quang Mai from Long An Province neighboring HCMC as the main pimp.
One of the beauty queens, Vo Thi My Xuan, 29, had also become a major organizer after providing the service herself several times for more than $2,000 each instance, police said.
