Vietnamese Cuban Intergovernmental Committee meeting closes

(VOV) – The 31st meeting of the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee for Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technological Cooperation concluded its three days of sitting on September 19 in Hanoi.


Committee Co-Chairman and Construction Minister Trinh Dinh Dung used his closing speech to note the meeting’s official minutes record the results achieved in promoting economic, trade, cultural, educational, and science and technology cooperation that will deliver practical benefits to both nations’ peoples.


He highlighted the creation of a legal basis for implementing these new programmes and projects.


Fellow Co-Chairman and Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz praised the efforts and achievements made in response to the previous meeting’s minutes and the renewed determination to overcome any remaining issues.


The two sides have defined feasible 2013-2014 cooperation and potential projects for their medium-term bilateral economic agenda, he said.


Diaz also introduced an infrastructure development investment workshop to Vietnamese enterprises.


The Cuban Minister hopes the workshop will encourage Vietnamese businesses to heed opportunities for cooperation with Cuba.


The 31st meeting discussed biotechnology and health, trade, and science and technology, all fields vital to meeting the future aspirations of the Cuban and Vietnamese peoples.
