Vietnam’s “young aspirations” first resounded in Europe

A music night “young aspiration” No. 6, with the theme “Homeland – Love – Aspiration”, was organized on September 14 at Opera Theatre in Kharkov City, Ukraine.


The event was held by Thanh Nien Newspaper and the Vietnamese Business Association in Kharkov, within the framework of the 7th Vietnam Business Forum in Europe.


The program was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Ho Dac Minh Nguyet, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium cum Head of the country’s delegation to the European Union (EU) Pham Sanh Chau, Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece Vu Binh, commercial counsellors, and delegates attending the 7th Vietnam Business Forum in Europe.


Speaking at the event, Head of the Organizing Committee and Editor-in-chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper Nguyen Quang Thong said that the first five “Young inspiration” programs have been performed in Vietnam, and this is the first program organized in a foreign country.


The program aims to take “young inspiration” to the overseas Vietnamese community, specially in Kharkov, which is considered the “capital” of Vietnamese people in Ukraine. According to statistics, over 5,000 overseas Vietnamese live, study or work in Kharkov, accounting for more than half of the total of nearly 10,000 overseas Vietnamese in Ukraine.


The event also aims to promote Vietnam’s culture to international friends, contributing to further tightening friendship and solidarity between Vietnamese people living away from the homeland and the indigenous people.


The music night also raises funds for the project on water filter equipment for officers and soldiers on Truong Sa Island and to build boarding-houses for students in highland and border areas.


At the program. Mr. Nguyen Quang Thong announced the names of Vietnamese businesses attending the forum and sponsors who contributed over VND585 million.


The event had the participation of nearly 200 singers and dancers of the two countries, and small singers who are children of overseas Vietnamese people in Kharkov./.
