Projects under 100 hectares, commitment to protect the environment would be submitted to the local government for approval.

Regarding to the Environmental Protection Fund of Vietnam, at present, the Fund aims to support renewable energy projects. However, the fund needs supports from international communities.

Dealing with the development of renewable energy in Vietnam, Deputy Minister Tran Hong Ha shared his opinion that by 2020, Vietnam would use 5 % of this energy source. To do this, the government will not subsidize for products using fossil fuels and subsidize for the products using clean energy. Since 2006 , the Government has implemented the National Program of Energy Efficiency and in 2008 promulgated the National Target Programme to Respond to Climate Change. The National Strategy for Climate Change and National Target Program on energy efficiency andenergy savings in the period 2012-2015 have been issued in 2011 and 2012 respectively. These are important legal basis for Vietnam to proactively implement the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enable domestic and foreign organizations and business to invest in developing clean and green growth.
