Film screening marks Vietnam-France diplomatic ties

A free film screening programme will be held on October 20-21 in the northwestern province of Dien Bien as part of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic relations.
A mobile cinema will bring four selected French famous films to audiences in the mountainous locality, home to one of the most well-known battles in the world, the Dien Bien Phu.
The films are “The Artist”, “Intouchables”, “De vrais mensonges” (Beautiful lies), “Un plan parfait” (A perfect plan), in which “The Artist” has won 53 different prizes, including 2012 Oscar and Cesar awards for the best film.
The mobile cinema is organised by the French Cultural Centre (L’Espace), the French Embassy and the Centre for Research, Support and Development of Culture (A&C).
After touring Lai Chau and Dien Bien in the northwestern region, it will travel to Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Nghe An, Thua-Thien Hue, Da Nang, Kon Tum, Dac Lac, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Da Lat and Nha Trang, stopping for two nights in each locality, except for Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City where the films will be shown free for four nights. The journey is expected to end on December 20.
