GM Liem disappoints with third place in Spice Cup

Viet Nam’s Grandmaster (GM) Le Quang Liem finished third at the US Spice Cup chess tournament yesterday, despite being the top seed in Missouri, the US.


Liem finished with two wins and four draws to claim six points, 0.5 less than GM Alexander Ipatov of American and GM Kayden Troff from Slovenia, who tied for first.


Sarah Chiang of the US won the women’s prize. — VNS
