(VEN) – The Speciality Food Festival 2013 will take place from November 17-19, 2013 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The festival will offer participating businesses opportunities meet partners which are importers, exporters of food and beverage products, including raw and processed food, cakes, Halal food, organic food, dietary food, milk and milk products, and cereals. Last year, the festival attracted the participation of 120 businesses from 21 countries.
Food security currently is a big concern for countries which are members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Due to harsh natural conditions and water, arable land shortages, most GCC countries have to import food to meet domestic consumer demands. Therefore, food-related events always attract the attention of businesses in the region as well as the world. The value of food imports by GCC countries is predicted to reach US$53.1 billion by 2020 and the UAE food retail market is predicted to reach US$10 billion by 2016.
Exhibition space hiring costs:
- US$375 per sq.m (applied to businesses which want to set up their pavilions by themselves)
- US$438 per sq.m (applied to standard pavilions which consist of wooden wall slabs, floor carpets, panels with company names in English and Arabian, tables, chairs and lighting systems)
