(VEN) – Quang Nam People’s Committee decided to approve the overall socioeconomic development plan for Bac Tra My District by 2020 with a vision to 2025. Together with new development goals, Bac Tra My District strives to effectively develop agriculture and forestry as well as promote industrial and commercial development towards modernization.
Bac Tra My District strives to complete development goals
The district strives to reach average industrial production value of 12.77 percent per year in the 2013-2020 period. Of which, industrial production value in the 2013-2015, 2016-2020 period is expected to reach 13.44 percent and 12.36 percent per year respectively. In addition, the district identified that administrative center will be an important factor in urban development. The establishment of central area in the town and the exploitation of potential are necessary. The district will implement urban development in the northwestern and southern directions. These two development directions are expected to create a breakthrough in urban development in the first period.
To realize set goals, the district has focused on promoting economic growth and structure shift, prioritizing financial resources to develop infrastructure serving sustainable socioeconomic development. Agricultural and forestry development is a top priority, contributing to ensuring food security and people’s living conditions. In addition, the district will encourage the development of trade and services, strengthen state management in the fields of land and mineral resources and the protection of eco environment. In particular, improving the quality of surveying, planning, investment and construction is needed.
In terms of agriculture and forestry, together with 75 percent of total agricultural land area and 80 percent of population engaged in agriculture, Bac Tra My District will ensure sustainable agricultural development. The district will strive to increase productivity, produce high-quality products and restructure plants and livestock in accordance with local conditions. In addition, the application of scientific and technological achievements into agricultural production is mentioned.
The district will also attract financial resources in forestry, creating favorable conditions for people to exploit forest resources. The district people’s committee will encourage businesses to invest in wood processing plants. In particular, setting up a plan to develop ecotourism associated with traditional craft villages and cultural tourism is also underlined.
Bac Tra My District People’s Committee Chairman Tran Anh Tuan said that the district has planned some lands for investors to invest in garment processing facilities. The district committed to create the best conditions in terms of administrative procedures for businesses. In addition, the district will accompany businesses to overcome difficulties. “The district is looking forward to receiving the support of the government at all levels and investors to develop Bac Tra My District and improve people’s living conditions,” Tran Anh Tuan said./.
