The Vietnamese communities in France, the Czech Republic and Russia have donated to support flood victims in the central provinces.

Responding the campaign to support people in the central provinces hit by natural disasters launched by the Embassy of Vietnam in France on the evening of November 25, Ms. Therese Nguyen Van Ky, Former Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in France, representative for the Overseas Vietnamese Association in France, has presented EUR2,000 to the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to support people in natural disaster-hit areas.


On behalf of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in France, Ms. Therese Nguyen Van Ky said that although the Vietnamese community in France are facing many difficulties in life and business, many people always look toward the homeland and are ready to contribute a small part to help people in the central region overcome difficulties.


This is just the initial contribution, and they will continue to send donations to support flood victims. Upon receiving the sum of money, Mr. Tran Cong Thinh, Deputy Head of the Office of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, thanked overseas Vietnamese in France. Mr. Thinh affirmed the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese would transfer this sum of money to people in natural disaster-hit areas as soon as possible.


** Earlier on November 23, at the headquarters of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the representative of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic and the delegation of Vietnamese women in the Czech Republic presented VND600 million to support people in Tuyen Hoa district, Quang Binh province to build health clinics or schools.


Mr. Vu Khiem, Secretary of the Tuyen Hoa district Party Committee, thanked the leader of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic for timely sharing in the difficulties of people in the homeland in general and Tuyen Hoa district in particular. The significant gift will help solve difficulties of people in flooded areas and is a motive force for local people to overcome consequences of the flood.
