Presenting Ho Chi Minh Order to a representative from late professor Ta Quang Buu's family (Source: qdnd.vn)
State President Truong Tan Sang has decided to posthumously bestow the Ho Chi Minh Order to late professor Ta Quang Buu for his contribution to the revolutionary cause of the party and the nation.
On November 17, in Hanoi, Prof. Nguyen Thien Nhan, politburo member and president of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, presented the Ho Chi Minh Order to a representative from the late professor Ta Quang Buu’s family.
Professor Buu was born in 1910 in the central province of Nghe An. He studied mathematics and physics in France. He was the first Minister of University and Secondary Education (Ministry of Education and Training at present) from 1965 to 1976, adopting a number of pedagogical reforms that served the nation’s specific needs at that time. In addition to education and training, he was also active in science, technology, and military affairs, and he served as Minister of Defence from 1947 to 1948./.
