MoF issues food safety and hygiene fees

(VEN) – The Ministry of Finance (MoF) recently issued Circular 149/2013/TT-BTC providing guidelines for collecting, paying, managing and using food safety and hygiene control fees.







According to the circular, starting on December 16, 2013, a VND150,000 per certificate or notice fee will be required for granting food safety and hygiene standard satisfaction certificates, standard import shipment certificates, circulation permit notices for imports that must be managed strictly, or food safety and hygiene test result certificates.


The circular says that a VND500,000 per product fee is required for verifying and announcing for the first time food safety and hygiene standard satisfaction of ordinary products, food additives, substances used for food processing, packaging materials and food utensils; a VND150,000 per product fee is required for verifying and announcing products for production and trade within a business (referring to food materials, food additives, substances used for food processing, packaging materials and food utensils); and a VND1.5 million per product fee is required for verifying and announcing for the first time food safety and hygiene standard satisfaction of diet supplementary products and nutrient products.


The circular also has regulations on food safety control fees and food safety and hygiene testing fees./.
