VGP – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will pay a State visit to India from November 19-22, during which he is expected to hold talks with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Viet Nam and India have shared close relations in terms of culture, history, economics as well as many common stances on international issues.
Both countries established diplomatic relations in 1972 and elevated the bilateral ties to strategic partnership 20 years ago.
India has also maintained close ties with ASEAN and pushed up the ties to strategic level last year. The two-way trade value stood at nearly US$72 billion and is projected to increase to US$100 billion by 2015./.
