VGP -The State Bank has issued guidance documents to prevent payment card fraud.
It has required payment service supply organizations to tightly control the process on opening and using bank accounts, the process on issuing payment cards, and enhance the implementation of policies on know your customer (KYC).
The organizations need to report to the Police when receving suspicious information.
In recent years, the Police have detected those individuals who have enticed people to go to banks in Viet Nam to open international payment cards, then re-purchased and used them abroad withdrawing cash abroad or transferring money from the victim’s account illegally.
