12 members of Vietnam-Japan Peace and Friendship Council Chapter of Japan’s Saitama Prefecture on August 10th had exchange with and offered gifts to Vietnamese Agent Orange (AO) victims in Quang Nam province on the occasion of the Vietnam Day for Victims of AO/Dioxin (August 10th).

The delegation also visited families of AO victims in Tam Ky city and Nui Thanh district who had received houses built with financial assistance from the prefecture’s council. Since 2012, the chapter has funded the construction of seven houses for the victims in the province.

On the occasion, the Japanese friends granted US$ 13,400 to assist the Vietnamese locality in taking care and building more caring centres for the local victims.

The chapter’s President S. Yamashita expressed sympathy for Vietnamese AO victims who are suffering from post-war consequences and pledged to call for more support for AO victims in Vietnam in general and in Quang Nam province in particular from Japanese people.
