On November 13, at the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC), Mr. Ngo Hoa, Standing member of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Deputy Chairman of the PPC, held a reception for Mr. Eivind Archer, Chief Representative of the Nordic Assistance to Vietnam (NAV) on the occasion of his taking up the office to replace Ms. Margareta Koltai.
At the reception, Mr. Eivind Archer was grateful to the PPC, related departments and localities in facilitating NAV Office to implement its projects in the province. According to Mr. Eivind Archer, NAV currently gives priority to support Vietnam to promote projects on climate change mitigation and adaptation, especially capacity of people in disaster prevention. In addition, NAV is interested in other sectors such as HIV/AIDS prevention, gender equality, and family violence mitigation.
On behalf of the PPC, Mr. Ngo Hoa highly appreciated the effectiveness of projects implemented by NAV in the past time. The projects’ results have made important and practical contributions to ThuaThienHueProvince in carrying out policies of society, poverty reduction, disaster prevention, and improving people’s lives. He emphasized that the sectors prioritized by NAV were also the ones Thua Thien Hue needed to be supported.
Taking this opportunity, Mr. Ngo Hoa hoped that Mr. Eivind Archer, in his new position, would further support Thua Thien Hue in the sectors of social charity, disaster prevention, climate change adaptation, livelihood development and community capacity building.
