On November 19, a seven-day training course on reinstating and teaching traditional music of the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic minority group opened in Truong Son mountainous commune, Quang Ninh district, the central province of Quang Binh.
The training course is held by a project on Mekong sub-region sustainable development in the central province of Quang Binh, in coordination with Cat Vang communication limited liability company, Truong Son commune People’s Committee and Truong Son boarding secondary school.
The project aims to promote national traditions among ethnic people when they are students.
Six artisans directly teaching students know well the intangible cultural heritage of the Bru-Van Kieu, such as traditional music, tunes, folk dances and traditional festivals. 26 learners from the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic group are studying at the school.
There are 939 households with 3972 people in Truong Son commune. 549 households with 2407 people are from the Bru – Van Kieu ethnic minority group. The commune has great potential for tourism with beautiful landscapes and a rich community culture with dances, songs and traditional festivals./.
