This is the first chartered flight from Ukraine which will be scheduled weekly from now on.
According to Anh Duong Tourist Company, the local partner of Turkey’s Pegas Touristik Company which is involved in bringing Ukrainian visitors to Vietnam, there will be a weekly flight from Ukraine with more than 200 travelers on board from now until April.
Like Russian visitors who also fly to Cam Ranh on chartered flights, Ukrainian travelers will spend their holidays at coastal resorts and hotels in Nha Trang City and Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan provinces. Ukraine is a market that the local tourism industry has yet to tap and this is the first time the country has welcomed so many Ukrainian tourists.
Hoang Thi Phong Thu, chairwoman of Anh Duong Tourist, informed that the Ukrainian market had huge potential. However, she said that tapping such a market remained difficult as Ukrainian tourists have to apply for entry visas to travel to Vietnam in contrast to Russian visitors who are able to travel to the country for 15 days without visa requirement.
“We expect the weekly chartered flight from Ukraine will be run until next year’s winter period but the schedule could be extended further. More Ukrainian visitors would come here if they were subject to a free-visa policy,” Thu added. Her company and Pegas Touristik are serving four chartered flights from Russia to Cam Ranh daily and they have plans to bring Russian tourists to Phu Quoc Island off the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang by chartered flights at the end of next month.
