Several Vietnamese artists are taking part in the 2013 Singapore Biennale, which is running in Singapore until Feb 16, 2014. The exhibit is considered the biggest contemporary art event in Southeast Asia and its influence is increasingly felt on the global scale.
Put on by the National Museum of Singapore, the 2013 Singapore Biennale attracts 90 artists and groups, most of whom come from Southeast Asian countries.
Participating in the event are 11 Vietnamese artists, including Le Brothers, who showcase 10 works.
Compared to its three previous versions, in which there were no art directors, this year’s exhibit is supervised by a co-curatorship, who selects the artists and works. The co-curatorship comprises of 27 veteran artists from regional countries, including two from Vietnam.
Themed “If the world changes”, the exhibit is an urge to the artists to contemplate and reflect on the world we are living in as well as the ones which we’ve always dreamed of.
