On 18 November, Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam Camilla Mellander led a business delegation to visit and work at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The two sides exchanged issues related to green growth.
Sharing about the development objectives of the Green Growth Strategy in Vietnam, Ms. Camilla Mellander said that Sweden is one of the countries in the world pursuing Green solutions in a long time. Swedish Government encourages and promotes green growth solutions for over 30 years and Swedish companies have also developed many solutions towards green and clean in order to minimize greenhouse phenomenon and climate change. She expressed a desire to cooperate with Vietnam in this field.
According to Mr. Dang Hoang Hai, Director of European Markets Agency, Green Growth Strategy was approved by the Government of Vietnam, but the achievements of the national strategy for growth green in Vietnam remains modest. Vietnam is suffering from effects of climate change and the environment pollution. The main obstacle now is in energy development, especially the cost of electricity. Mr. Hai also affirmed that Vietnam government tried all its best to make the green growth strategy developed.
