The event, which was organized by the foundation for disabled children and the southern branch of the cultural center for businessmen, helped raise over VND20 billion from companies and benefactors to help Agent Orange/dioxin children and child cancer patients, among others.
President Sang handed over 12 awards worth VND5 million each to outstanding handicapped children from across the country.
Participants to the walk also admired photos featuring 100 handicapped citizens and around 5,000 letters were written to give best wishes to disabled people nationwide. Similar events will take place in Hanoi, Danang, HCMC, Can Tho, Tay Ninh and Quang Tri in 2014 to raise funds for disabled children in the localities.
