Viet Nam is a huge market for Cambodia’s tourism industry, said Tekreth Samrach, Secretary of State for Cambodia’s Council of Ministers, at a seminar organised by Cambodia’s Angkor Air in Phnom Penh on Wednesday.
More than 730,000 Vietnamese visited Cambodia last year, accounting for 21.3 per cent of the total 3.5 million international arrivals.

Foreign companies dominate air freight
Despite difficulties last year, the country’s air freight transport industry achieved growth of 17 per cent, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of Viet Nam.
However, local air carriers still do not provide cargo transport services, market experts noted at a recent meeting about the air-freight sector.
A representative of the International Air Transport Association predicted that air cargo transport in Viet Nam would remain limited over the next five years because of poor infrastructure in the country.

Ministry supports jobless labourers
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs will receive financial support to take part in job-training programmes.
Under a recent draft that the ministry has released, jobless labourers would receive at least VND600,000 (US$30) for a month and up to VND3 million ($150) for three months to spend on training. The payments would not last longer than six months.
