Kon Tum hosts culture, sports festival

A culture, sports, and tourism festival is being organised at the Mang Den eco-tourism park in the Central Highlands Province of Kontum’s Kon Plong District.


The festival, which opened on Tuesday, will go on until March 20. Its programme includes Vietnamese folk music concerts and folk sculpture exhibitions.


Known for its pristine landscapes, Mang Den, 1,200m above the sea level, is a new tourist attraction in the Central Highlands.

Nearly 1,000 find jobs at HCM City fair


HCM City’s second job fair this year on Monday attracted 79 businesses looking to recruit 5,500 workers in marketing, engineering, information technology, and other areas.


Of the more than 2,700 people who visited the fair, organised by the city’s Job Promotion Centre, nearly 1,000 were hired.

Youth Union joins traffic safety campaign


The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee will this year focus on traffic culture to improve safety and encourage young people to comply with traffic laws to reduce accidents and traffic jams, especially in big cities like Ha Noi and HCM City.


The union will set up many youth volunteer groups in provinces and cities to ensure traffic safety in front of schools, industrial parks, and at rail intersections where accidents occur frequently.

Hand-foot-mouth incidence up in HCM City


HCM City has reported 883 cases of hand-foot-mouth disease this year, 18 more than in the same period last year, according to the city’s Health Department.


HFMD infections are high in April and May and usually affect children under five.


Health workers are meeting with kindergarten teachers and parents to talk with them about preventive measures.
