The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently reported that more than 3.1 visitors came to the city so far, a year-on-year increase of 17.2%. This number includes more than 743,000 foreign visitors, a year-on-year increase of 17.8%, and nearly 2.347 million domestic tourists, up 17% year-on-year. This has brought the city a total turnover of 7,784.1 billion VND, up 29,8%.
Most notably, a total of 92 cruise ships have berthed at Tien Sa Port and brought 102,465 visitors to the city, an increase of 91% over the same period last year. Da Nang is promoting the attraction of foreign tourists to the city via such direct air routes connecting Da Nang to Japan, Korea and Thailand; and tourists to the city on the East-West Economic Corridor. Special attention is also being paid to developing tourism boat services as a new type of tourism product.
