Press contest on Uncle Ho’s soldiers launched

PANO – A press contest, “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers – People’s Soldiers”, was launched on December 4th in Hanoi by the General Department of Politics in the presence of representatives of organs and units of the Ministry of National Defence and leaders of army and civilian press agencies.


The contest aims to disseminate the armed forces’ mass mobilization activities to people and troops, making contributions to reaffirming and promoting the beautiful traditions of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and the Vietnam People’s Army, as well as foiling the “peaceful evolution” scheme of hostile forces. It is also to timely discover and honour outstanding groups and individuals in mass mobilization activities and continue beautifying the virtues of Uncle’s soldiers in people’s hearts.

Over the past years, army press units have actively disseminated the results of mass mobilization, especially after the approval of the Central Military Commission’s Resolution 152 on continuing renewing and strengthening mass mobilization work of the armed forces in the new context. Various activities to help ethnic minority people stabilise their life have been organized in the whole army.


Each participant should send a maximum three works of not more than 2,500 words each, with illustrative photos.


Good entries will be published by the People’s Army Newspaper and army newspapers, the Vietnam Defence TV Channel and the People’s Army Program of Radio the Voice of Vietnam.


The organizing panel will present 1 first, 2 second and 3 third prizes to outstanding print, online, radio and television works in each category.


Print and online articles should be sent to the Department of Party and Political Work of the People’s Army Newspaper at 7 Phan Dinh Phung Street, Hanoi, or to chinhtriqdnd@yahoo.com.vn and to the People’s Army Newspaper Online at 7 Phan Dinh Phung Street, Hanoi or to dientubqd@gmail.com, respectively.


Television and radio works should be sent to the Army Radio-Television Centre at No. 2 Ly Nam De Street, Ha Noi.


Entries of all categories should be sent before December 31st, 2014.


The awards ceremony is scheduled in the first quarter of 2015.
