Prime Minister receives US Trade Representative

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said the Trans-Pacific Partnership was an important foundation for boosting cooperation between the related parties including Vietnam and the US.

At a reception for visiting ambassador and Representative of the US International Trade Commission, Michael Froman, in Hanoi on Monday, the Prime Minister stressed that as a member of the World Trade Organization and the Bilateral Trade Agreement, Vietnam has always implemented its commitment to actively pursue a market-oriented economy and integrate with the world economy in the interests of fast and sustainable development. Mr. Dung expressed his hope that during negotiations, the US would take into consideration the reality of Vietnam’s manufacturing conditions, especially in the fields of garments, textiles and leather footwear markets, in order to reach an agreement between the two sides.
