TOKYO (VNS) — Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung arrived in Tokyo yesterday, starting a four-day official visit to Japan at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.


While in Tokyo, Dung will attend the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit and the fifth Mekong-Japan Summit.


The visit, which takes place on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Japan, seeks to foster a strategic partnership, especially economic co-operation, investment, development assistance and co-operation between the two countries at regional and international forums.


Dung is scheduled to meet today with leading businesses and associations in the fields of economics, science and technology. — VNS
