Talented young runner Quach Thi Lan will be sent abroad for an intensive training course that aims to develop her skills on the track.

Lan, who won the national women’s 400m and 400m hurdle events at the age of 17, is a rising sports star in Viet Nam. She is expected to win the 400m and 400m hurdles events at the coming 27th Southeast Asian Games in Myanmar, as her results in the events have surpassed that of the defending champions.

She will receive support from Thanh Hoa Province and the National Sport Administration for the long-term training course, which is likely to be in either America or Europe.

Her older brother Quach Van Lich, 19, who is the national champion in the men’s 400m event, will also be sent to Europe to hone his skills.-VNS
