Rubber export tariffs cut

The reduction for rubber products’ export tax became effective today, according to a recent decree of the Ministry of Finance.

Export taxes on synthetic rubber products fell from 5 per cent to 1 per cent, while export duties on natural rubber latex and non-vulcanised mixed rubber commodities were reduced from 3 per cent to 1 per cent. Last year, the ministry raised the export tax from zero per cent to 3 per cent in an aim to encourage the export of processed rubber products. However, rubber prices fell last year and this year, leading to difficulties for exporters.
