This marked an important milestone in the development process of Quy Nhon port and the sea ports group on Quy Nhon bay.
Currently, Quy Nhon port has six wharfs with a capacity of 20,000-50,000 tonnes. With the event, Quy Nhon retained its development as the port handling the third largest commodity volume after Hai Phong (19 million tonnes) and Saigon (10 million tonnes).
General Director of the Quy Nhon Port Joint Stock Company, Nguyen Huu Phuc, said that by the end of 2013, the volume of commodities through the port will reach 6.5 million tonnes, up 15 percent over a year previous, earning a total turnover of VND477 billion (up 14 percent). Benefits posted VND28 billion, up 35 percent and average per capita income at the port was VND15.5 billion per month./.
