South Korean enterprises donate over VND4.28 billion to charitable activities

The South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam pledged himself to actively pay attention to charitable activities to create opportunities for enterprises’ integration.

The Hai Duong provincial People’s Committee and provincial Fatherland Front Committee on the afternoon of 24 December coordinated with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in organizing a ceremony to present South Korean enterprises’ social responsibility works to Hai Duong.


Nine firms of the South Korean business community in Hai Duong and two Ha Noi-based enterprises donated VND4.284 billion to build houses of affection and support the poor with money for medical treatment and clothes, students overcoming difficulties to study well with scholarships, medical establishments with equipment, etc.


Mr. Jeon Dae-Joo, South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, pledged himself to join South Korean enterprises in the territory of Vietnam in general and Hai Duong in particular in actively paying attention to charitable activities in the coming time with the aim of creating opportunities for enterprises to integrate and have a sense of responsibility to the Vietnamese community.

South Korea currently ranks 6th in terms of FDI investment in the province (around USD340 million, accounting for 5.9%).


South Korea’s investment projects in the province mainly cover business industries of export garments, footwear, electronic equipment, etc.


Most South Korean firms operate stably and effectively, creating many jobs for laborers in Hai Duong province.
