An amount of 30 billion VND sourced from the provincial budget has been approved by provincial top leader Mr. Cao Khoa for building new resettlement zones for those whose land to be projected the project of expanding the national highway No.1A across the central province of Quang Ngai.
Reportedly, the national highway expanded project is expected to kick off its development in the central region of Vietnam as well as improve the national road traffic system from the north province of Thanh Hoa to the south province of Can Tho.
A source from DoT said that an amount of over 648 billion is estimated to spend on the package of land acquisition whole the route of over 81 km throughout Quang Ngai Province. 5,373 households will be affected, and 717 families have to be relocated.
The route is to be expanded to 24 m wide (including 6 lines) with a velocity of 60-80 kilometers per hour.
For the construction, it is divided into two projects. The first project is co-invested (Build-Operate-Transfer) by Thien Tan Group and Thanh An company at the total capital of over 2.1 trillion VND. It runs 29 km through three districts of Tu Nghia, Mo Duc and Duc Pho. The construction is planned to complete by the year 2015.
The second project runs 52 km across districts of Binh Son, Son Tinh, Tu Nghia and Quang Ngai city. Its registered capital is about 2.7 trillion VND sourced from the State bonds. Quang Ngai provincial department of transportation is the project owner, which has been making efforts in pushing the progress of land acquisition on schedule.
