Vietnam’s support industries are in their infancy and they need foreign experience and know-how to develop and assist key economic sectors, Ninh told business representatives of the Japanese city of Hamamatsu in Hanoi on January 20.
Experience from Japanese groups will help Vietnam improve technology and increase business administration capacity, the Deputy PM said.
He also confirmed Vietnam attaches importance to mutually beneficial cooperation with Hamamatsu and creates the best possible conditions for the Japanese city to strengthen ties with Vietnamese localities.
Hamamatsu mayor Suzuki Yasutomo, who was leading the delegation, said many Japanese investors in Hamamatsu are keen to boost cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the fields of industrial production, trade, and support industries.
He said the city council has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and his visit is to concretise the MoU.
Located in western Shizuoka Prefecture, Hamamatsu houses many big companies like Suzuki, Yamaha and Honda which are operating in Vietnam.
