VietNamNet Bridge – The recent snowfalls have damaged a lot of trees and roads in the Hoang Lien National Park. The park, including the Fansipan peak, will be closed in three months, to have time to repair roads and to prevent forest fire, according to the latest announcement of the park authority.

The announcement has been sent to all travel agents and tour operators. Accordingly, the national park will be closed and all activities in this area will be banned completely from January 24 until the end of March.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Director of the Hoang Lien National Park, said the ban applies to all tourism activities within the park. It also means that activities relating to the Fansipan peak will be canceled during this time.
Vinh said that the threat of forest fires is very high at present because after the December snowfalls, a lot of trees in the park have withered.
“The Hoang Lien National Park will repair roads and take anti-fire measures to prevent forest fires and ensure the safety for tourists,” he said.
During the closure, only local people whose fields are located inside the park are allowed to enter the forest but they have to register with the rangers.
