VGP – Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam has recently tasked relevant ministries to study and promulgate policies on developing physical education and sports at schools
He also assigned the Ministry of Education and Training to select and join annual school sports activities in Southeast Asia, Asia and the world.
The assignments aim to promote physical education and sports at schools and improve the efficiency of the country’s participation in regional, continental and global student sports activities.
The Ministry was also asked to suggest commendations to groups and individuals for their outstanding achievements at the 5th Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival in accordance with Law on Emulation and Commendation and implementation directions.
At the festival, Vietnamese student team finished in the first place with 50 gold, 27 silver and 22 bronze medals.
The event was an opportunity for Vietnamese students to exchange with regional friends, manifesting the country’s foreign policy, enhancing unity, cooperation and friendship with regional countries, promoting national cultural identities, the land and people of Viet Nam../
