As a ‘tradition’ to be observed during Tet over the last ten years, Tuoi Tre newspaper has launched the 11th annual Online Cung Tet Viet 2014 (Online with Vietnamese Tet) program, creating a Tet-themed playground for its readers in Vietnam and overseas during the country’s traditional holiday.
The Vietnamese online edition of Tuoi Tre newspaper, Tuoi Tre Online, has unveiled its Tet program at http://ift.tt/1aDlntW.
This year’s program consists of three contests for readers to show off their photography, poem-making, and moviemaking skills and talents to win valuable cash prizes.
The “Tho tinh mua xuan” (Love poems for the spring) contest encourages readers to make and submit their romantic poems in Vietnamese to compete for the top cash prize of VND10 million. Each participant is allowed to send as many as five poems. The contest runs from Jan 16 – Feb 10.
Total cash prize for the contest is VND43 million.
The “Hanh phuc mua xuan” (The happiness of spring) contest accepts all photos taken by readers which depict the happiness of the spring and the holidays. They can be photos that feature the family-gathering theme or showcase the beauty in nature amid the spring.
Readers are allowed to take pictures with any devices from digital cameras to smartphones, while selfies – photos that readers take of themselves – are also eligible for competition.
Entries should be submitted between Jan 16 and Feb 10.
Total cash prize for the contest is VND44 million.
Readers are encouraged to send video clips that capture the most memorable moments they have with their family during Tet for the filmmaking contest themed “Khoanh khac mua xuan” (Moments of spring).
Contestants can use any devices to film their videos, which should be shorter than 2 minutes. Submission is open from Jan 15 to Feb 15.
Total cash prize for the contest is VND30 million.
Besides the three contests, there will be also two small games for readers to try their luck and spread their love messages.
Readers who visit Tuoi Tre Online (www.tuoitre.vn) at the moment of the Lunar New Year’s Eve will have the chance to win a red envelop with VND1 million worth of lucky money.
The Xong Dat (first visit to a home in a year) game will run for only 20 minutes and 14 seconds, representing the 2014 year, and readers should try to answer some questions as quickly as possible.
The list of ten winners will be announced on Feb 4.
With the “Chuc tet yeu thuong” (Send love wishes for Tet) program, readers can share their words of love to their beloved ones during Tet. Moreover, they also have the chance to win lucky money with their wishes.
Twenty readers with the wishes that receive the most Facebook likes and 20 others whose wishes are most shared on Facebook will be given a red envelope containing VND500,000 worth of lucky money each.
The program runs from Jan 20 to Feb 6.
The Vietnam Export Import Bank (Eximbank) continues to be the main sponsor for the program for the fourth consecutive year.
