VGP – The Department for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Health (MoH) has organized a meeting with international organizations which have been cooperating and helping Viet Nam in HIV/AIDS prevention and control.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long acknowledged and appreciated international organizations' support and contribution to preventing and controlling HIV/AIDS in Viet Nam.
In the future, the MoH will propose policies to expand the scope of HIV prevention and treatment as well as guarantee the sustainability and socialization of methadone therapy.
In 2014, the Department for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control expect that international organizations will support HIV prevention model and methadone production in Viet Nam, helping the country realize the millennium development goal in HIV/AIDS, and mobilize bilateral and multilateral resources and the supply of ARV.
The Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) Viet Nam Country Director, Dr.Kristan Schoultz treasured efforts of the Vietnamese Government in HIV/AIDS prevention and control.
Viet Nam has created a favorable legal environment and attracted the participation of the whole community in HIV/AIDS prevention and control activities, she added.
