​The provincial Health Department held a ceremony on February 24 to celebrate the 59th anniversary of the Vietnam Doctors’ Day (Feb. 27, 1955 – 2014) and carry out tasks for 2014 with the present of Mr Le Quang Thich – the provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman, representatives from related departments and agencies in the provincial area.


​Despite facing with numerous challenges caused by infectious, new and unpredictable outbreaks, last year the health sector took active measures to prevent the spread of diseases, as well as ensured environmental sanitation and intensified monitoring work.


In 2014, the sector will continue to focus on bettering its healthcare system and services at all grassroots level, enhancing medical staff training, and simplifying administrative procedures while raising the public awareness of healthcare.


At the ceremony, Vice Chairman Thich praised the achievements gained by the health sector in 2013, meanwhile gave his congratulation to all health care staffs on the occasion of the Vietnam Doctors’ Day.


On this occasion, on behalf of State President, Thich provided the Certificate of Excellent Doctor to Doctor Pham Hong Phuong – former Director of DoH.


09 individuals were rewarded Medals for the people’s health by the Health Ministry and many other individuals and collectives received certificates of merit by the Health Ministry and Quang Ngai provincial People’s Committee.
