Senator Teofilo Torres Corzo, Chairman of the Mexican Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee for Asia Pacific made the affirmation at a February 13 reception for Vietnamese ambassador Le Thanh Tung.
(VOV) – Mexico is keen to promote political dialogues and the ties of friendship aiming to further trade and cultural exchange and scientific research with Vietnam.
The Mexican senator said that his committee is committed to beef up across-the-board cooperation with Vietnam and regional countries in the new development period.
Corzo also briefed his guest on the results of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) held in Mexico’s western State of Jalisco in early this year, noting the forum is instrumental in dealing with issues related to anti-terrorism fights, drug control, energy security, green growth, tourism, poverty reduction, migration, cooperation and development.
Vietnamese diplomat Tung, in turn, suggested Vietnam and Mexico should strengthen bilateral ties to share experience in business, scientific research and cross-cultural exchange.
He also conveyed an invitation to visit Vietnam to SenatorTorres Corzo at early date.
