Viet Nam tie Pakistan in Davis Cup qualifier

Viet Nam drew Pakistan 1-1 after the first two singles matches of the Davis Cup’s qualification Group II Asia/Oceania zone yesterday in Da Lat City.

Host’s No 2 seed Ngo Quang Huy lost 0-6, 4-6, 3-6 to visiting team’s No 1 Aqueel Khan.

In the second match, No 1 Nguyen Hoang Thien of Viet Nam beat Muhammad Abid 6-3, 6-2, 6-0.

In the only doubles match today, Le Quoc Khanh in pair with Trinh Linh Giang will play Khan and Asiam Qureshi.

The match, which starts at 10.30pm, will be screened live on TV.— VNS
