Vietnamese has become the 6th language used on the official website of the Global Movement on climate change 350.org.
Other languages available on this page include English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German.
“The appearance of Vietnamese language on the 350.org page marks the ongoing development of 350.org Vietnam to become a model for climate change movement development in developing countries,” said Mr. Nguyen Khanh Toan, coordinator in southern region of 350.org Vietnam climate change movement.
All operation information of the 350.org Vietnam and the globe will be introduced in Vietnamese language on the 350.org webpage by Vietnamese volunteers. In addition, there will also be information about climate change, renewable energy, green lifestyle and green architecture.
The photo of young people cycling for advocacy of climate change in an event organized by 350.org Vietnam in Hanoi in 2011 has even been selected as the background of the global 350.org webpage.
350.org has also launched webpage http://klima.io/, which offers beautiful fonts free of charge for everyone to use for the purposes of building climate change movements or other non-profit purposes.
The global movement for climate change 350.org was launched in 2007. So far it has representation in 188 countries and territories, of which only three countries have headoffices and official staff of 350.org including: USA, New Zealand and Vietnam.
350 refers to 350ppm (parts per million), that is the maximum safe limit of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. The goal of the global 350.org is to lower the current CO2 concentration at 400ppm to 350ppm.
Launched in August 2011, so far 350.org Vietnam has organized many campaigns such as “moving planet”, “Connect the dots”, “one-hour for difference Earth”; “A liter of light”, climate camp, green Lunar New Year, and most recent campaign on climate change and renewable energy “Global Power Shift” from September 2013 until the end of 2014. 350.org Vietnam has around 10,000 volunteers nationwide, who are students./.
