— Early today (March 24), a foreign tourist was found dead after falling from the sixth floor of the Gariiol hotel in the coastal city of Nha Trang. Police are investigating to identify his name, nationality and the cause of incident.


— A 76-year-old woman in Khanh Hoa Province has been found to have a lithopedion, commonly known as stone baby, in her stomach, according to doctors at Cam Ranh Hospital. Lithopedion is a rare phenomenon which occurs most commonly when a fetus dies during an abdominal pregnancy.


Ly Minh Hoang, 29, hailing from Ho Chi Minh City’s District 8, was put in police custody after he beat a 17-year-old girl in the face and stole her SH scooter on Sunday.


— A container was en route from District 12 to Thu Duc District on Sunday when it crashed into three houses on the National Highway 1A. The front parts of the houses were severely damaged but fortunately there were no casualties.


— Three residents in the coastal city of Nha Trang told Tuoi Tre on Sunday that their houses have recently been locked from the outside by some unidentified men who acted at midnight. It is unclear what the motive of the culprits is.


— A four-year-old girl in the coastal province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau was reportedly missing on Sunday after she was last seen going with her 20-year-old cousin Le Han Van Tam in the afternoon of the same day, police said.

— Tour organizers from 22 countries and territories, including Japan, China, Russia and France, have registered to participate in the second Vietnam International Travel Mart, which runs from April 3-6 in Hanoi.


— Chinese fruits still outplay locally grown produce on the latter’s home soil as they are widely available across the city at cheap prices, but the fruit quality are dubious.


— German flag carrier Lufthansa will stop offering services connecting Frankfurk and Ho Chi Minh City starting March 25 under a restructuring plan intended for its fleet.


— Thailand tourism authorities are launching many promotional programs in a bid to attract more Vietnamese travelers to the country, after Vietnamese arrivals to Thailand dramatically slumped over the last few months.
