Organized by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, the concert will feature piano soloist Nguyen The Vinh and artists of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, the orchestra announced in a statement.
Music lovers will have the opportunity to listen to Overture from Opera “Oberon” by Weber, Piano Concerto No.13 C major by Mozart and Symphony No.1 Bb major “Spring” by Schumann.
Honna Tetsuji was permanent conductor of the Osaka Symphony Orchestra (1995 – 2001) and principal conductor of the Japan Chamber Orchestra (1993 – 1997). From 1998 to 2001, Tetsuji was the permanent guest conductor of the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra. He was also the music director of the Orchestra Nipponica (2003 – 2011), which mainly performed Japanese contemporary works.
In February 2009 he became music director and principal conductor of the Vietnam National Orchestra where he has been serving as music adviser and conductor since 2001. In October 2011, the orchestra made its first U.S. tour with him, giving concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York and the Symphony Hall in Boston.
He has led numerous orchestras worldwide and got many international prizes. In 2000, he performed in eight different Asian countries in the “Toyota Classics” tour with the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra. He has been invited to many international festivals around the world.
