(VOV) – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has highlighted the relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Italian Communist Refoundation Party (PRC) as a longstanding tradition between the two nations.
Meeting with the PRC Secretary General Paolo Ferrero on March 21, Hung voiced his confidence that the PRC will continue to enhance its status so as to develop Italy into a prosperous nation and make remarkable contributions to the world’s communist and worker movements.
The Vietnamese top legislator said he is happy to see bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, science-technology, education and cross-cultural exchanges growing steadily.
The two countries are set to further enhance their relationship within the “strategic partnership” framework as agreed by senior leaders.
Hung suggested the Italian Party should support and promote cooperative relations between the two legislative bodies and exchange activities between the two friendship parliamentarian groups to deepen mutual understanding.
PRC Secretary General Paolo Ferrero, in return, affirmed his party’s determination to strengthen cooperation between the two communist parties and desired to learn the CPV’s experience in developing a socialist-oriented market economy.
